I'm not sure what happened, but a few days ago my e310 started exhibiting some strange behavior. When I try to turn it off with the power button, it will turn off for about a second and then immediately power back on. Same thing happens if I let it shut off automatically after no activity - it powers down, but immediately powers right back on. Obviously this has created a situation where the battery drains rapidly since I can no longer turn the frigging thing off. I've tried soft resetting and hard resetting, tried using it with and without the SD card (Sandisk), but it keeps exhibiting the same behavior. Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on what might be causing it?

It's over a year old and therefore out of warranty. I'm hoping I'm not SOL with this thing...

Same scary thing happened to one of my e740s (yes, I owned 2--in succession) once. I panicked of course; until I discovered that the Voice Recorder button was somehow stuck in the pressed position--which resulted in the unit keeps turning itself back on, no matter HOW you shut it down or reset it! Hope this help?

Yep, that was exactly the problem. Good call. I don't use the record function, so I had remapped the record button to turn the unit on and off. I guess the cumulative effect of using the button over the past year eventually jammed it into the on position. I jiggled it enough to get it to pop back out - looks like I won't be using that button at all from now on. Thanks much for the tip. :D

Hmm... here's a funny one. My e310 recently kept turning itself on after a couple of minutes even after i'd turned it off. And when i tried charging it whilst the unit was on, the LED would just turn yellow and not charge. (and no, its not due to a temperature thing as the manual states - coz it was inside my very comfortable house at the time). I sent it to toshi yesterday... wonder what they'll say - but anyone can anyone else think of what the problem mite be?
