Difference between SD and MMC cards?

What's the difference? I thought they were the same. I tried a Nokia 3650 16MB MMC card on my PPC and it didn't recognize it.

I thought MMC was the unsecure version of SD. What am I missing?

check out this article http://www.woodyswatch.com/palm/archtemplate.asp?2-n12 for a quick rundown of the difference - basically the SD has extra security, is slighty thicker and has a couple of extra connector pins allowing it to communicate faster.
