Is there a program or a email service other than hotmail and yahoo that will let you retrive mail using POP3 and it gives SMS notification to your Mobile that you have new mail? I tried with Yahoo and its filer but did not really understand and I thing it takes long to send notificatin. Hot mail can send alert but you can't use your inbox to retrieve hotmail messages. the reasn I want this is so when I get new message(email) and my XDA is off, it can't check mail, but if the email service send SMS, I will get an alert because it is through my Phone service and then I can turn on the XDA and check myinbox. Any experts on this?? thx 8)

How's your carrier?
I ask this because Pocket Hotmail 2.0 works with T-Mobile US using their WAP server. You can also setup other ISP's for email alerts through your T-Zone settings.

Yeah, I use T-Mobile T-Zones service to SMS me when I receive emails. You can configure it to check ANY email address, not just the one you configured through T-Mobile.

I am in Canada and have service with Rogers AT&T. I do have SMS but I need a pop3 service to sms me that way when I get the notice, I can ope my inbox, instead of me checking through the inbox every 30 minutes or so. Yahoo has a way by using the Filter but I don't get the sms for hours or sometimes not at all.

O2 UK's email service does this for my XDA; I get the SMS alerts even when I'm outside UK. I suspect (but don't know for sure) that the notifications are only for O2 mobiles. However there's nothing to lose by trying, so go to http://www.o2.co.uk/ and register to create yourself an email account, and enter your mobile number. The SMS notifications arrive so quickly that sometimes when I try to collect the email immediately after the SMS it's not even available from the server yet!
