Question: What's better than a SCOTTeVEST™?

Answer: TWO SCOTTeVESTs™!

I just ordered and received my second SCOTTeVEST™ and am basking in them (not literally). I had a black one, which I really love; I just can’t get over how much stuff I can easily carry in one vest. However, the black one just didn't seem to go well with all of the sporty togs I usually wear, so I went ahead and got a stone-colored one.

I am in heaven! Now that I can color-coordinate my vests so much better, I have a 17+ pocket outfit for virtually every occasion (23+ pockets if I also wear my Mobile Pants)! Heck, I doubt if you’ll EVER see me without a vest on now!

A few people have hinted around that my love affair with my vests is indicative of "a problem." Scoff if you want, but while you’re loading your electronic accoutrement onto belt clips and shoulder bags, I rest assured that My Vest Is Best!

See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there's no better,
Than authentic Irish setter.

Sorry I don't know why I did that. 8O

Not really. He did let all the little dogs go in the end. Excellent....

I wouldn't like to go around wearing that thing when it's hot, though!

Yes, wearing one does make you a geek.
But be proud that you, at least, are a geek with some style and class.

I am still waiting for my leather one to arrive, but have decided to make a move south within the next year, and have decided that I too will need to own two. I think I could end up a heat casualty otherwise.

A geek. Yeah, but one with style :D

I hate carrying a lot of stuff in my jackets since it's can stretch the materials in way they weren't meant for.... So I usually carry a small tote bag. It's not one of those ugly canvas ones... But a really cool looking black nylon one that I bought at Armani in San Francisco. They are big in Europe, but haven't caught on in the States... I keep remembering a Seinfeld episode "it' European!".

Nice! Very geeky :D

I just spotted a problem with the pic though.. there's a Sony Clie in it, and not a Pocket PC. Looks like an SL10...

Nice camera though :D Canon Digital Ixus.. v2... I own one of these myself, great little camera.

Yeah, I know. My own X-ray machine wasn't working properly, so I had to just grab this shot from the www.scottevest.com site.

1)I thought the whole idea behind the Pocket PC was to slim down and not be burdened down with having to carry all that stuff we now cram into our Pocket PC’s. It’s multi-functioned to eliminate the redundancy of all that stuff.

2)For me, if I purchased one I would have to think of things to do and places to go to justify carrying all that stuff. I just don’t go anywhere for extended periods that necessitates carrying all that crap. But for those times I would the vest would be the way to go. Then all I would need to do is respond to all those people looking at me wearing a jacket in Southern California. I could be confused as a Geek Terrorist! Oh my gosh!

All in all, cool. I support the need for two in case your wife questions the need. I like the idea of shorts. Maybe someone could come up with the idea to incorporate hot-spots into clothing and we all could immediately contibute to expanding wi-fi accessibility.

To be honest, the times I really *need* all those pockets for gadgets are usually when I'm at an electronics conference or Pocket PC get-together. I think the last time all of us Microsoft Mobile Devices MVPs got together I was carrying three Pocket PCs and their accessories because we were always playing with new software, comparing devices, etc.

Most of the time, though, I use the pockets for a Pocket PC (or two) and my Bluetooth phone with handsfree set. The other pockets carry stuff for day trips to the amusement park, hikes, and so on.

It's actually very handy when traveling. I've found that putting the loaded vest through the x-ray machine instead of keeping my toys in a bag has cut down on the number of manual bag searches I've had to endure.

I can understand that. The vests seem to run a bit on the large side (so you can easily wear it over other clothing). So, while I would normally wear an XL T-shirt, the L vest fits me just fine.

Gee, now you can swap the sleeves and make it look like a high school letterman jacket. Now THAT's a look that's comin' back...

Odd number of eVests: not a geek.
Even number of eVests: total geek.

In short, you are officially a geek! But if you buy a third eVest, you'll avoid that title for a while (until you buy the fourth one 8O , that is)

I love the idea of the eVest because Lord knows that a man can't be carrying a bag around everywhere like a purse. Maybe some guys can get away with it, but most can't, including me. I'd love to be able to wear one of these because I need plenty of room to store all the junk I carry around.

But before I would, I have to say, that the eVest really needs some work - not in terms of function, but in terms of fashion. Among other things, that collar has got to go. They really should bring someone in who knows how to design something that doesn't scream "NERD"! Because as it stands right now, it certainly does to most people I know that have seen it. It reminds me alot of those jackets some guys used to wear in the eighties with the snaps on the shoulders.

Don't get me wrong... I love the idea of the eVest. I think the jacket is a great idea. It's about time someone developed a jacket like this. But I won't be wearing one of these until some changes are made.

Just my .02.

Seems like they have limited availability on many common sizes.

The only v2.5 they had in my size was "electric blue" (too bright for me, too close to the 'blue screen of death' color -- I'd prefer Navy).

No availability on Black, Stone, or Sport...

Remind us again when there are more in stock...

Idea: Rather than posting pictures from trade-shows they've already been to, they should publish their schedule of trade shows they WILL be at. (This would help those of us that wanted to look at them before ordering).

Are you sure you want to go through with this sir? You do have a very full wardrobe as it is.

Mr. Burns
Yes. But not completely full. You see,

Some men hunt for sport,
others hunt for food
The only think I'm hunting for
Is an outfit that looks good

See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest
Feel this sweater, there's no better
Than authenitc Irish Setter!
See this hat, 'twas my cat
My evening wear, a vampire bat
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino!
Grizzly bear underwear
Turtle's necks, I've got my share
Beret of poodle on my noodle it shall rest!
Try my red robin suit
Comes one breast or two
See my vest, see my vest, see my vest!

Like my loafers? Former gophers!
It was that or skin my chauffers
But a greyhound fur tuxedo would be best
So let's prepare these dogs!

Mrs. Potts
Kill two for matching clogs!

Mr. Burns
See my vest!
See my vest!
Oh, please, won't you see my veeesssst!

(Spoken): I really like the vest!

Smithers
I gathered, yeah.

He he, I loved that episode
