If only they had a build of Mozilla Firebird (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/) for PPC... Built-in popup blocking, skinning, tabbed browsing, even selective image blocking and more with plugins, all in a (relatively) small footprint (it could probably be shrunk even more for mobile purposes with removal of a few features). If any aspiring open source guru wants to mess with it and compile it for PPC, i'd be a happy man :).

I'm not even asking for that much. Come on, I want a browser where I can for example right-click on an image and be able to Save As. You know, simply stuff like that. I guess full screen and landscape are not that important.

Any?

You're right, those are very simple requests, but no one has done anything that will fulfill them. It sucks, I know. :?

Conduits and other companies used to develop browsers, but lets face it - there's not a large need. The screen on current PDAs are too small for full web browsing and those who do use it think Microsoft's solution is fine. Once the small group of power users expand to the average user it probably won't happen.

Solution - use Terminal Services and browse from your PC :)

BTW - I am REALLY happy with the built-in picture viewer - very nice zoom-in process!

You could check out ftxp Browser (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/index.php) - it comes somewhat close to your hopes. And it's free, so why not give it a shot?

hmmm it's quite nice. I like the tabbed browsing, even if it doesn't seem to work all that well.

It's not really a browser in its own right, as far as i can tell. It seems to be a bootstrap loader for IE that adds a few buttons, cleartype support, etc. And no landscape mode that i can find :?. Still, a step up from IE.

But... do the bookmarks work? It doesn't show the ones from IE, and i can't find a way to add my own, even thought there's a favorites button. It just displays a blank favorites folder, and the "edit" tab is grayed out. hm. can't live without favorites.

I actually don't know about bookmarks. I don't really use that feature. You can get to the developer's website from the link I gave you, and you might be able to e-mail him from there. I know the developer is usually very responsive to suggestions.

ftxPBrowser does display my PIE favorites. It is still on the developers todo list to by able to add favorites from within ftxPBrowser.

This happened for me too. It is nice how they add the right-click save picture option.
