I love my 2215. I love my Stowaway XT. I hate the drivers.
It's time to move our thoughts about the subject to a single forum! I know this isn't specific to the 2215, but all iPAQ owners need to sound off and tell Fellowes that there complacent attitude towards fixing the problem will not win them any sales. I've personally gone through the "my screen won't show up and I have to soft reset (although the bluetooth still works)" thing, and it's frustrating as hell to know I can't fix it!

The keyboard plus drivers do not come from fellowes.
Fellowes sells some of the keyboards under a subcontract, So does Targus, therefore if you wanna complain, do so to thinkoutside.com =D
I thought that the stowaway xt was not out yet... cept for the palm version

Perhaps ThinkOutside is eventually responsible, but part of the burden a company like Targus or Fellowes takes on is customer support. In fact, this is exactly why ThinkOutside is not mass selling them directly! (second reason is probably branding) Let's split the difference and complain to both departments :D
Try the PriceGrabber feature on the home page with the search term "stowaway xt." You'll see plenty of hits!

This is a known issue. http://www.thinkoutside.com is working on it and the last I heard it would be mid-late september.

Whether or not they are actually working on it, I think complaining is the right thing to do at this point. Even if they had never heard of Windows Mobile 2003 until the day it was released (which I find hard to believe), they still have had a couple of months already to write this driver. I am finding it increasingly unacceptable that they give no updates - and indeed no response whatsoever to many of their customers.

What is doubly frustrating to me is that Dave at Davesipaq.com gave the StowawayXT a glowing review with his 2215 and then thinkoutside.com posted a snippet of the review on their home page!!
Here's Dave's quote:
"If you ask me, the new Stowaway XT keyboard is the best keyboard out there for your h2215."
Here's what Thinkoutside.com put on their home page:
"If you ask me, the new Stowaway XT keyboard is the best keyboard out there...Think Outside has proved to us once again that the impossible may be possible,..."
THEY SPECIFICALLY REMOVED THE MENTION TO THE 2215 FROM THE QUOTE since they know it doesn't work, but yet they imply that it works great by posting a review from DavesIpaq.
I sent Dave an e-mail asking him how he got it to work so well, but he never replied... I'd be upset if I were him, but I guess any publicity is good publicity.
I'll call the number and talk to customer service.

It actually works just fine when in use. The problem is the device won't suspend properly - seriously drains the battery - and you must soft reset to wake it up.

I consider the behavior 'not working.' I think that ThinkOutside considers the behavior 'acceptable', and there in lies the rub.
I'm using the registery fix for the time being, and that's ok. My complaint with the company isn't that a problem exists with the driver, it's that we have no evidence that they give a hoot about how it works in PPC2003.
The initial indication when Jason talked to these folks in June/July was that they were aware of it and were on it. In fact, I think maybe it was Jason who made them aware of the problem, it's in a thread here somewhere. But other people have gotten other indications from them as to whether or not this is a priority. I wouldn't have bought the keyboard if they hadn't told Jason they were working on a fix. And yes, I share responsibilty because I did in fact purchase the keyboard knowing there were driver issues, and I have definately learned.
But now look at what they posted on their home page on July 10th, snippets from a glowing review of the product with an h2210! That's irresponsible.

No they don't. They have stated that it isn't designed for the 2003 OS and are working on it. I don't know where Dave got his but chances are, he used a 2002 driver, and as far as usage goes, it is a good keyboard. Why Dave thinks the XT is the best keyboard for the 2215 is beyond me when there is no driver designed for it. Dave also says As you can see pictures do not do this keyboard justice. :confused totally: I don't get that statement. "As you can see, pictures don't do it justice." No, how can I see that if I am only looking at the pictures?
Thinkoutside still says Davesipaq.com but they don't link any longer.

They do have 2k3 drivers, and they work relatively well. They should be here already, but they're not. Give them some time, I know they're working hard.

Worse than that, actually. Sometimes keys (including delete!) will stick and repeat endlessly. Sometimes the driver just stops working for no reason, requiring a soft reset. So while I want the driver yesterday, I want them to fix all that stuff first.

Has anyone heard anything lately regarding the driver? I know that rumor had it that it would be released mid-September. Doesn't anyone have an idea? Oh well, guess that I'll keep doing the reg hack until it is fixed.
