I'm considering a new Pocket PC and trying to choose which model. Can anyone comment on the following?

Potential performance difference between the CF WiFi cards currently available and the forthcoming Socket SD WiFi card?
Advantage of buying a 2215 and adding $150 WiFi card vs. going whole hog with the 5555 and its additional features?
Is it possible to connect my Pocket PC to an Ethernet connection in a hotel room? (Ethernet port/cable available in the room)
Thank you for your comments.

The reason I switched from my Dell Axim to the HP 2215 was the compactness of the HP. I tried carrying my Axim with me all the time but there were times when it was a little too big and I had to carry it in my hand. The HP fits in my pockets conveniently.

My point is if you want a compact device that you can carry almost all the time, the 2215 is better. If performance is more important and you always wear shirts with large pockets or carry a briefcase, etc the bigger (and more powerful?) 5555 may suit you better,

Sure - you can get a wired Compact Flash 10/100 card for as little as $30 (look on amazon.com, for example).

I'm personally a happy 2210 owner... the only issue i have is i'd like more battery life (it's ok, but not great) - but the 2210 with a wi-fi card AND an extra battery is still smaller than most dual-expansion handhelds.

My 5455 broke (fell) and I had the option to get a 5555 as a replacement. I went w/ the 2215... I miss the integrated WiFi (I have to carry the WiFi card w/ me) -- but it all fits in my pocket so nicely now - even compared to a naked 5455...

I really like my 2215. You should be able to find a CF WiFi card for a lot less than $150, though.

Around 70 bucks for a Ambicom CF WiFi card from CompUSA.

$40 after mail-in rebate from mobileplanet.com for the d-link 660w... comes out to $47 or so shipped after rebate. Not too shabby at all.

i just switched from my 5455 to a 2215 w/ CF wi-fi. The size did it for me as well. MUCH smaller than my iPAQ 5455 , and MUCH better battery life.. nuf said :) Plus.. the D-Link wifi card works with ministumbler :-)

anyone w/ the d-link connected to 802.11g? I can't get mine to work w/ anything but pure 802.11b...
