I founf this on a microsoft message board for anyone thinking of upgrading

"Everyone with a 5455 needs to directly write HP and make this request.

Here is the response directly from UEI on NEVO and 2003:

Hello,
Nevo is an embedded software, so unless you specifically ask HP to include
Nevo when they do the update, it will be lost.
Please include all original correspondence in your reply to enable me to process
your query faster."

That's interesting but it is no help if the consumer grade IR is missing from the 5500s. And I believe it is making this an already lost cause.

But he's referring to the 5400 series.

I'd be kinda surprised if this were true. Seems as though something that major would have been mentioned by the people who have already tested and/or evaluated the h5400 series upgrade. Let me just say, though, that if HP did remove such a big feature -- one that we paid for -- I'll be more than a little pissed...

Another good reason to NOT upgrade my 5450 to 2003 (or purchase a 5500).

Maybe next year.

Based on all the issues that seem to be arising with WM2003 and the fact that NEVO may not be included i will not be upgrading when it becomes available.... I love Nevo and use it everydaycontrolling 15 devices....what a pain in the ar#e! :soapbox:

I just upgraded an Nevo was still on there. I haven't tested it out to see if it functions right under 2003, Haver to admit the nolvity wore off quick. an all in on remote is faster.

I have never had any use for Nevo or anything else like it. So i dobviously dont miss it. There seem to be quite a few who do though judging from the posts.

What is the rom version. Is this the official HP release or a beta?
