<a href="http://www.bernardbelanger.com/computing/NaDa/index.html">http://www.bernardbelanger.com/computing/NaDa/index.html</a><br /><br />Bernard Bélanger has released the highly anticipated NaDa 0.5 and it is fully Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC compliant.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2003/20030711-nada.gif" /><br /><br />It is very small, taking up only one byte and works with all Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Edition and even Smartphone devices and all processors. It works well on storage cards too. Installation is simple. Just download it and copy it to the device. Nothing more to do, because it does nothing! No installation routine, no soft reset, no uninstallation feature. Nothing. Zilch. NaDa! It is free at <a href="http://www.bernardbelanger.com/computing/NaDa/index.html">the NaDa site</a>. <i>(affiliate link)</i><br /><br />Don't look for a full review of this product though in the future as I've just told you everything this will do. Simple. Elegant. Zen!

Right, the degrading speed is not as fast as battery pack upgrading, let alone hack master.

Actually the older version was 0.9, the new one 0.5 and they have already announced 0.0: "We hope to release NaDa™ 0.0 by the end of the year."

You know, I read Ed's post, and all the replies so far, and no one has even made mention of what this software does! :?

I know, I could look at the developer's site, which is what I'm about to do, but I thought it was funny that everyone's talking about this program, with no mention of what it does, or what makes it so great.

Are we sure it's not called Ginger or IT?

EDIT:  OK, I read the site, and re-read Ed's post, and now I feel dumb for not getting the joke.

But, I made up for it by installing NaDa 0.5 on my laptop and iPAQ right away. I felt better almost instantly. :)

Nothing more to do, because it does nothing!
I wonder what this was called when it was in pre-production? I can't have been vaporware, since that's what it is now...

Hang on just a minute here; I've created at least 6 apps that accomplish exactly the same thing as NaDa. I've contacted SCO's Reverse Engineering department to look into whether we may have a copyright infringement situation here.... 0X

I think this is actually a virus. I installed it on my Dell Axim pocket PC. I then did a soft reset and it wouldn't reboot. I had to do a hard reset and start off from scratch.

Even though I don't know why it did this I just want to warn all of you. That 1 byte of data is dangerous.

Let me know if anyone else has had this same problem.

Microsoft just announced this morning that they plan to release Microsoft NadaNote .NET 2003.

Stever Ballmer said at a press conference this morning that "...NadaNote .NET 2003 is an integral part of Windows Server 2003. Increasing effciency, stability, and mobility, we're expecting sales to reflect the popularity of such a software product."

Available in both 32 and 64 bit versions, Microsoft expects the first copies of this product to be on store shelves this fall.

Although no offical price has been announced, experts believe $1,000,000,000,000 will be the starting price.

In case this is genuine concern, let me lay it to rest. The contents of the file is 0x0D, which is 00001101, which is the number 13... could it be simply unlucky? "13" isn't enough to tell your OS to do anything significant, much less dangerous...

Although it could be a "trigger" for a virus.. The virus looks for the existence of the file and if it see it, executes its payload. Or I could be paranoid.. 0X

Long time ago, when I taught an intro DOS class, I pointed out that a 1 byte file took up an entire cluster on a disk (floppy or hard). How much of a CF card will this app REALLY occupy?

I would guess a cluster also. How big a cluster is in this case, depends on the format of the CF Card. But you can always defrag.

This software is so good, I've installed it 255,909,888 times on my 256MB CF card. Just awesome.

No problems either, I mean, what are the chances of me installing something 255,909,888 times and NEVER encountering a problem? Nil, pretty much, but this software beat the odds. Amazing. Statistics will never be the same again.

Been working on this baby since I saw the post. Has a load of us on the warez channels working on this puppy but we done it.

NaDa_0.4.9 (unofficial haxors ver) is now ready if anyone wants it. Does even less than the original.

Ok

Find file

tap'n'hold

select Rename

change extension to exe

This file could be anything, really. A SQL database, a zip file, a nasty jpg of your neighbor's dog...

Just expect it to be rather benign and don't try to execute it once renamed.
