How much does a pirate pay for corn on the cob?

A buccaneer. Arrrrgh!

Congrats!

Since we're on the topic of pirates now (I think...) I just got back from seeing Pirates of the Caribbean and it was really good! One of the best movies I've seen in a while!

Why couldn't the kids go see the pirate movie?

Because it was rated Arrrrrrrgh.

A pirate gets a new job as first mate on a ship. Eventually (being pirates) they get in a fight with a big ship. The battle turns somewhat against them. "Arrrgh, matey, bring me my red shirt!" orders the captain, so he brings the captain his red shirt, which he puts on. They go on to win the battle. The next week, they get in another battle. "Arrgh matey, bring me my red shirt!" says the captain when the going starts to look rough. So the first mate retrieves it for him again, and then they go on to victory. After they finished their looting, the first mate asks, "Cap'n, if you don't mind me asking, why do you keep changing into your red shirt every time we seem to be losing?" "Well, it's simple, matey," says the captain. "When I wear my red shirt, the crew can't see if I get wounded, since it blends with the color of the shirt. This keeps morale up, and the boys fight harder." "Wow- that's quite smart," thinks the first mate.

The next week, they are suddenly attacked by three Royal Navy warships. "Arrrgh, matey," yells the captain, "Bring me my brown pants!"

Glad you liked it, Ed :D. Hey, every once in a while, it's nice to have a change of pace from the puns .

Congratulations, Kati!

I took my 12- and 9-yr-old to see Pirates, yesterday. Nothing objectionable but a little "pirate" violence. Swords and such. The skeleton thing they thought was funny! (But that may just be my kids.)

I don't know - the ninjas in The Tick (http://www.thetick.ws/tickcom3.html) are pretty cool! 8)

We are a hedge. Move along!

randomly, today i found a lego pirate RPG (http://www.io.com/~sj/PirateGame.html). It's got full rules and stat sheets for the full lego fleet. From the creator of the rules, Evil Stevie:

This is a game, involving elements of both roleplaying and tactical combat, in which grown men and women sit on the floor and push toy pirate ships around, going "Arrrr!"

woah.
