I don't know... It seems compelling. I hear about the performance difference from other PPC's, the size difference from my Axe...
Seems like a good move.
Anyone think I shouldn't? I'm not really convinced it makes sense to move, but if I wanted to it wouldn't be much of a tragedy. I'm very attached to my Axim, but the performance and size upgrade does seem kinda nice.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated (and please don't turn this into a Bash the Axim thread!)
Thanks all!

Unless it's really about the size, I'd wait and see about the OS upgrade before buying a new PPC. It seems 2003 really does make a big performance difference. This is the case with the Ipaq 3970, at least.
Also the battery life isn't as long as the Axims, although there are people saying that it is amazing for a 900 mah battery. The only things you'd really be missing out on would be bluetooth and a slightly smaller size for $300 to $400 (or more, depending where you live  ), and possibly an SDIO slot, unless i am mistaken in thinking that the Axim does not have SDIO.
Sit tight for a little longer, i'd say. Besides, people rumour a 128 meg version coming in fall, though who knows how reliable that is.

I agree with last post....let's see the benchmarks after the WM2003 upgrade. You might find that the performance difference between the 2210\2215 and an upgraded Axim to be not worth the upgrade.
Also, how important is battery life? To me, very important, but it's personal choice....much like the size of the device.
Probably worth making a list of pros\cons of each device OR listing in priority order what are the most important attributes of a PPC. Then, run each device against your prioritized list...hey, this is starting to sound like a nice little program concept......hmmmm.....a personalized "PPC Picker" that compares an customized attribute list against the various models.....

Personally after spending $200 on my Axim I should get at least a year of use before I get something new, especially if I'm going to get something MORE expensive next time. Plus I'm broke so waiting is easy :)

I agree with all three of you: wait wait and wait. As an owner of an axim with 3400 mAH battery, i am not really interested with 2200. 900mAH simply wont cut it for me. I dont want to be reminded about "low battery, memory lost might have occured" that often
If you have spare cash, and would love to play with new toy, you should go ahead with 2200.
As for myself, i'll wait for the magneto.

I bought my brother an X5, and then got myself a 2215 the next month. I like my 2215 better -- but not by much. If I had the Axim, I wouldn't be feeling any remorse -- I really like it. :)
The only advantage the HP has is it's size+bluetooth.
Axim? -- already a boat-load of accessories, batteries, large user base, and updates posted by Dell. HP? Nada.
Also -- if you get bluetooth -- get the socket one -- fits into the SD slot completely -- no antenna!!!
Just my $0.02

When I got my Axim I'd narrowed it down to the Axim or the 2215. They way I saw it was:
Roughly equal performance in WM2003 (oh how wrong I was, but that's a whole other thread  ).
Axim plus points:
20MB more ROM storage. Great for all those applications.
£100 cheaper - quite a difference.
Jog dial - Tried it once, would hate to give it up.
Nice battery life/options
2215 plus points:
sooooo much smaller. Not that the Axim's too big for me, I have big hands, but smaller is always better.
bluetooth - not important now but when i get a new phone it will be.
slightly better screen.
better accessory support.
It was quite a close call for me actually.
