Gonna buy PDA need help, please

Hi all,
I am new to PDA's so forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this. I want to buy a PDA/Mobile sorta all in one. I have almost decided on the SOny P800 as it seems to fit the bill.
The reason I like the P800 is I do not have to carry a cellphone and PDA seperately which to me is a great bonus.
But....
I have always been a fan of the pocketPC OS ( I think the P800 is something different). The other thing is since the GPRS data charges here in New Zealand are grossly overpriced I would have really liked a Compact falsh slot so I can get a CF 56k modem for use while I am near a landline (often)
Is there anything out there that would fit the bill better than the P800?

I would look at the O2a as it is a Pocket PC based solution rather than the Symbian OS that is on the P800.

From newsgroup reading i have found that there seem to be alot of issues with the P800 with the major being the syncing software.

At least MS Activesync works and at this stage there are a bucket load more applications available.
