Interesting is the next question in the FAQ page:
"Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 includes a Bluetooth stack, why is the iPAQ Pocket PC h5100 and h5500 series not using the Microsoft provided stack?
The Bluetooth profiles supported on the iPAQ Pocket PC h5100 and h5500 series provide a more complete set than the profiles provided by Microsoft® on the operating system."
So, why bother to go to lengths of publishing the great feats of Windows Mobile 2003 Software, incorporating x,y, and z, if the manufacturers say "yeah, right, but ours is better anyway".

Would it have something to do with the fact that the Microsoft BT drivers are a bit of a pig?
I mean the release a BT Keyboard & mouse set that would not work with any standard BT card.
I know that you can get it to work with a lot of messy around but once again Microsoft just goes off on their own tangent and expects everyone to follow.

Can anyone that owns a H2200 series iPAQ confirm whether it supports the headset profile?
Thanks in advance.

How can I check this? I've poked around in the Bluetooth Manager, but don't really see a list of supported profiles.
I'd be glad to look elsewhere, if you can point me in another direction.

I think that's almost exactly what Mauricio is implying. Hopefully, longterm we'll be able to use the Microsoft standard for Bluetooth more widely, but they have to make it extensible first.
(My theory, BTW, is that it was easier costwise for HP to keep the existing stack.)

Correct  For the example cited previously in this thread, I've used the MS Keyboard and mouse with new drivers on my TDK adapter. But it would be better if:
- MS supported Bluetoot on W2k (not only XP like now)
- MS supported more profiles
Alas, no comment from them on this matter...

Thanks for the link. It's really kind of sad. The H5000 series has the profile. I would have thought it wouldn't cost much to add a bluetooth profile to a device. Thanks to all that helped!
