I want to connect to the internet over a cellphone, what are my options?

i know t- mobile has it for 20 bucks, who else has unlimited access? also, what speeds can i expect? are some of the services faster than others? any info is appreciated, thanks

At this time, only T-Mobile is offering the unlimited access. Technically access speeds can get up to 56kbps over a GPRS connection. CSD connections (which don't require the T-Mobile data plan) can only reach up to 14.4 or 19.2, but you have to be sure the your carrier supports it (AT&T, for example, does not allow CSD connections).

In terms of who provides better speeds, I don't think you'll find much of an edge between the carriers (T-Mo and AT&T from what I know).

You're right, I was thinking GPRS / CSD only. Definitely the Sprint data service is much faster than GPRS but you do pay a much heftier price.
