I recently got T-Mobile's $20 unlimited data plan and I've been experiencing a considerable number of disconnects and "the page you are looking for cannot be found."

Anybody else experiencing this?

What phone you using? Have you ever had any success? I'm using the Nokia 3650 and I do get that from time to time with the solution generally being to turn off and then turn on my phone again.

Also, I'm assuming you're accessing the net using GPRS as opposed to CSD? If GPRS, what settings are you using? The required settings tend to be different in different parts of the US. For example, from where I am (LA and NJ), my dial-up number is *99***# with no special connect string, but for others the dial-up is slightly different and may require a connect string.

T-moble's wireless group explained that there was a problem and it was generally resolved.

They suggested I modify my settings by going to the Proxy Settings; check the checkbox "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet"; in the Proxy server textbox I put - getmorespeed.t-mobile.com

Clicking the "Advanced" button, I put - 8080 - in the "Port" box for HTTP.

It wasn't clear that this is necessary now, but they suggested I do it. We'll see how it works.

The proxy settings didn't work. After talking with T-Mobile's wireless group they also suggested removing them. As I understand, they are trying to fix the problem. It might continue to be intermittant for a while.

Ekkie: Yes, I'm using a Nokia 3650. Our setting here is *99#. Turning off the phone or resetting the devise doesn't matter (unless you've got other problems). The problem isn't with any connection between the PPC and the phone, or even with connecting to the internet. It's getting the page to display. I don't have any other insight into the problem except that T-Mobile is aware of it and working on it. In fact, today, I haven't had a problem.

Well, the core issue may be different but the symptoms you describe are exactly what I'm encountering. I never have issues with the PPC-to-phone BT connection and the GPRS dial-up connection is always successful... but occassionally, despite the successful connection, I will get a "page not found" error when surfing or some server error when trying to access email. There are others with the same phone (and on different networks) who are encountering the same issue. For most all of us, it seems that doing a power-recycle resolves the problem. In your case, if there is an issue that T-Mo is aware of, then I'd be interested in knowing what the issue is b/c just maybe it's connected to what I'm seeing as well.

Call T-Mobile's customer care 800-937-8997 and describe the case. They will then pass you over to the wireless data group. When I was speaking to one of them he found a memo and read part of it out loud. Perhaps there is more information available if you can get them to give it to you.

So far, no problem today.
