Now that the new IPAQ's are out what is everyone doing with their old one's? Luckily I dumped my 3975 before the new one's hit the street. I see in the "buy & sell" section people are trying to unload them with SD cards and all for less than $300.

My co-worker has a barely used 3970 with expansion pack that I am sure he would like to unload. It served well as a paper weight all these months. He bought it thinking it would organize his life but he forgot to organize his life to include setting the dang thing up :D

So, two questions?

Is there a market out there for these old (less than a year old is old?) one's and what's everyone doing with their old units? Just curious??

I guess I'l be hanging on to my 3835. Probably wouldnt get enough to make it worth selling.

i sold my 37xx here on eBay about 6 weeks ago with a Vaja case for $670AUD. I thought i would only get around $500AUD so i did alot better than i though.

I sold my 3850 with CF sleeve a couple of weeks ago for $500 AUD. Gut feeling tells me that these are now going to sell for maybe 20% less s the 38XX upgade to WM2K3 will not be around for a while.

Just as well you got rid of it then!

I have friends that work for HP in Melb & i work in the "channel"and i can tell you the direct word is that 5450 upgrade will not ship is AUS before the end of the month and for 38XX & 39XX the middle of October!

The 3970 is still a great device! But if you're thinking about selling it, upgrade it to PPC2003 first. I think you'll get a lot more for it then... maybe it'll be so much better, you'll deside to keep it anyway :-)

Yeah... I know I would be more interested in buying a PPC with Winmobile instead of 2002 PPC

The problem with doing that is that you will not be able to sell the unit until October as that is when the upgrade will be able for the 38xx & 39xx.

In the meantime 2 new models will be released and the value keeps dropping......off load it now!

Ahh you just reminded one of the few things I don't miss about Oz :? : the cost of Pocket PCs! If you can get $670 for a second hand 37xx I hate to imagine how much a new 2215 is going to cost there. You can pick up a second hand 3760 for about €210 - €290 (about Au$370- Au$490) on ebay in the UK.
