Does the latest version of PocketMVP support DivX 5.0.5?

If not, does anyone still know where to find the 5.0.3 codecs?

TIA!

Nope - I haven't been able to get it to work. I don't know about 5.0.3, but 5.0.2 is available here (http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divxcodec5.html)...

5.0.3 codecs work fine, just hoping that they make a PPC 2003 compatible version by the time I recieve my upgrade cd from Dell.

I got MVP loaded on my dev. emulator. I'm workign to get a fixed version this month (unless the official dev. figure it out). It might be something Microsoft did on purpose - since MVP is soooo much better than Pocket Media Player... but I don't know anything for certain. Its just a change in some audio APIs - from what I see so far. Give it a month or so.. someone will get it fixed.

Yes, 5.0.5 works fine with PocketMVP, just turn off the extra crap in it.

KayMan2K - if you haven't already, mention what you've found so far over at the PocketMVP forums. It seems like the main developer, Marc, is 'missing in action' temporarily.

What do you mean? How do I do that?

All the little extra "features" of 5.0.5.. turn them off when you encode it..

You ARE reencoding your stuff to fit the PPC (both screen size and audio capabilities - then it not only takes up way less storage space, but also program memory to run it), right?

Meaning: NO Profiles, and uncheck everything under the General Parameters tab, don't use any of the Pro settings (if you're using Pro).

Some of the encoding parameters will not have any effect, such as crop/resize and noise reduction. I don't think physo-effects would effect decoding, but it might. B-Frames are a definite no-no, along with Quater-Pel and the other setting (forget its name right now).
