It's the first SD-camera solution in the world with Flash Light and 1.3 Mega pixels. With the FlyCAM-SD you have the ability to take snapshots and record video. It turns your PDA not only to a digital camera , but also to a Digital Camcorder. Your can immediately watch your recorded video and send it out by e-mail. Or transfer them to your desktop PC, and watch them with the Microsoft Media Player."<br /><br />Check out these specs - impressive!<br /><br />• The frame rate of display on PDA is up to 30fps <br />• The live preview window size is from 160x120 to 320x240 ( Full screen ) <br />• Self-view / Portrait / landscape display mode <br />• Full screen display at 320x240 landscape (240X320 portrait) <br />• Realtime Video quality adjustment in Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, Hue <br />• Supports to capture still images in JPEG, BMP, and GIF formats <br />• Image size from 320x240 (240X320) to 1280x1024 (1024X1280) at true colors. <br />• Built-in flash<br /><br />If this camera is even close to as good as these specs would indicate, I think I'll finally be impressed with a Pocket PC camera! I've requested a review unit from them, so I hope I can get it quickly.

Cool! If they get the pricing right, it might be the kick to get a newer device that has SDIO. (I've been trying to come up with reasons to upgrade from my Axim to a 2215)

Looks good. Lens rotable up to 210°.
Can't wait for your test results.

It looks kinda Cyborgish. LOL

YES! and if it does not suck the batteries dry with a flash or two, and is priced right this just might be the TOOL to have.

Good for snapshots or industrial application (can you say building inspector with PPC and flash camera? Awesome!). This has potential for all sorts of apps...

Not going to replace a mid-range digital or basic SLR with it, though.

However, with the way technology in good digital cameras is flying ahead (Pop Photo just said they finally found a digital that beat an SLR film camera) and the newer technologies (lower-power, higher MP CMOS chips), this is another market that will change quicker and quicker. GOing to be a fun next few years in this space, too! 8)

Where? They only have the CF cameras from what I can see, not the SD cameras...

I have the CF 1.3 MP model for use on my ipaq 3970. The quality of the pictures are very good, much better than I expected. It is way way better than the old 0.3mp. The software (IA album + capture + IA video) is the best. The only thing is that the camera does not have zoom. But what do you expect from PDA?

If the quality of the pictures taken with the FlyCam SD is no better than those taken with the FlyCAM CF in this review, I wouldn't get too exicted.

this one is different in that it has a flash, whereas the review of the CF device states it doesn't (even though it looks like there's one in the pic).

Looks like it might be a tight fit on the HP 5xxx series with the wifi antenna so close to the sd slot.

Wow, if the cf is 170 then i think the sd one is going to be just a little over that :( I dotn have all the money to be spending right now, i wanna get bluetooth too...too tempting. I do wanna get it though, since instead of carrying like 5 gadgets in my pockets ill only have to carry one or two. mhhhh, would be nice if it had a sd slot on the camara though, sicne i got like 12 megs of ram left.

One more thing, YES! good thing i did research(a lot) and some waiting and i got the toshiba 335 with interated sdio for only 150 8O :D

I had a thought today about this camera. The software should have the following feature:

For PPCs with only one expansion slot, software should create a "virtual storage card" with a folder that holds all of the pictures while you're taking them. Then, when you remove the camera and plug in the SD memory card, the application detects this and automatically moves the pics from system RAM onto the SD card. This way, you don't have to think about it.

Whaddya think? Am I a genius or what? :)
