UK - iPaq 5450 PPC 2003

:cry: sob :cry: I was just on the phone to HP who have told me that they do not expect to have a UK upgrade for the iPAQ (5450 in my case) to windows mobile (PPC 2003) for 1 to 2 months, despite it being available in the US today. (see http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/ppc_upgrade.html)
I know the US is a big market, but can anyone explain why it is so hard to have a co-ordinated release? It is not like the new OS is a surprise to anyone.
Has anyone ordered the US version for use in the UK?

There shouldn't be any difference between the US and UK versions. The hardware is the same. I also had a US version of a Casio E-105 many years ago and there weren't any software differences then.

I may get some abuse for this, but I'm sure US copies of the upgrade will leak and personally I'd not have an issue using one of these while waiting for the UK version to become available for purchase.

It may be available for purchase today, but the upgrade itself won't be available until July according to HP's FAQ (http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/ppc_upgrade_faq.html).
