Okay, until I decide which iPaq I'm going to pick up, I will be continuing on with my trusty Jornada 547. I just performed a hard reset on the device, and went about installing all the drivers, including the Linksys software for my WCF11. I am able to sync with my computer using the device, but am unable to browse the web using PIE. Is there anything I have to do to tell it to use my network connection as my connection to the internet?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

The best thing to do is get yourself a free copy of VxUtil from Cambridge Computer. (http://www.cam.com/vxutil.html)

Check to see if you are getting a DNS setting being passed on. If not, you're not going to get anywhere web wise since it's not knowing where to go.

Also - are you using an access point or AdHoc? If it's AdHoc, do you have any internet connection sharing active on your host PC? If it's an access point or AdHoc, VxUtil will show if you're picking up the settings correctly via DHCP or if you need to manually add stuff.

I am accessing the internet directly through my Linksys router. I am familiar with network hardware, but when it comes to DNS and WINS and all that junk, I'm lost . . . I usually just set it to obtain automatically.

Okay, I downloaded the software, but I have no idea what I am doing. If someone would be so kind as to post a tutorial of sorts I would be hella grateful.

Otherwise ask: I am using a hp-548 with a d-link w660 CF-card.
