View Full Version : iPaq 2215 and Bluetooth GPRS phones: Anyone get theirs working?

I've been trying, with little success, to get my new 2215 to play nice with my Sony T68i cell phone. I can pair the devices, but BT Manager only allows for DUN connections via modem. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, except that ATT Wireless won't give me the neccessary login info to use the DUN/modem choice as my connection.

ATT Wireless offers a connection manager for PPC2002 and I have tried it. The software installs correctly, but does not properly detect BT on the iPaq, offering only serial and IR as connection options as a result.

Has anyone get around this?

I am using with ATT just fine

1. Pair it with the phone
2. The DUN # is *99***2# (the 2 is your CID usually it's 2, try 2 first)
3. No username or password
4. save password checked.
5. Connect bingo!!!
:D

entropy is THE MAN!

Thanks for the tip, works like a charm.

Now, if only ATT could have given the dialup number? :really mad:

No problem I went through the same headache...but it works....and beautifully, once you set it as your default connection leave Bluetooth running and that sucker will connect and dial every time, within in a couple of seconds...

*99# should be *99***2#

With the ATT and Nokia, don't you need the +CGDCONT=1,"IP","proxy" added to your extra dialing sequence? I need it for T-Mobile and the 3650... You might want to check what "proxy" should be for ATT, though...

I didn't use it with my t68i either; it's always worked. Am I breaking something by not using that? Costing myself minutes/data? Thanks!

*99# should be *99***2#
Before you guys confuse each other, the dialup string varies by phone. Some also need the +CGDCONT, but not all.

I've got T-Mo and the Nokia 3650... I don't need the additional dialing strings... at least not from Los Angeles or New Jersey, but I'm hearing in other parts, it's needed...

I know a guy that has a Nokia 3650 and I have a ipaq 2210...and we have been trying to get me on the net via his phone with no luck. This thread is the missing information i've been needed (I think), but I have one quick question.

Does the phone actually dail up or are those string commands just to get the ipaq to talk to the phones modem and use the already existing connection? The guy when the phone seems to think that the phone is always "hooked up" and doesn't need to dail up. That's why we have never tried the dial up partnership options. (that and I didn't have all the info above) =)
