View Full Version : Giving Up On Toshiba...Suggestions For New Pocket PC?

I have a warranty with Best Buy, which I purchased a *long* time ago with a Palm m500. Due to various problems, I kept exchanging, and eventually worked my way to the Toshiba line of Pocket PC's of which I own the e335.

The hotsync drops sporadically, it occasionally wants to connect as Guest, the buttons mysteriously repeat, and entering text is a dicey affair, because one area of the input screen is not working properly.

I still have the warranty, and can return it for a different model, but I'd prefer not to go the Toshiba route (this is my third model). The only restrictions I have are price (I have about $450 to play with...I could go, at most $100 over or under...and size, I don't want it to be too much of a brick.

Any suggestions?

I actually only have $399 plus tax to play with.

Why should I get a 2215? What makes it good?

Retail on the 2215 is $399.

Read Jason's review on the front page, or any of the other reviews that have popped up in the past few days. It just seems like the machine that gives you the most bang for your buck, if you have to go with what you can get in a retail store (i.e. no Dell) and are sick of Toshiba.

Dual slots, good battery life, built-in bluetooth, transreflective screen, small size....

Trust Crystal on this... go with the 2215! Go Buy it NOW!!!...

Ok let me try to make an informative post for once. \

The 2215 has two built in slots.

CF and SD.

The 2215 has a very nice screen(as most Ipaqs do).

It also has a cradle and it has WinMobile(PPC2003).

The 2215 comes with the PXA 255 which is the best so far... and it is 400mhz.

200mhz memory bus...which means... PLAYABLE POCKETSNES...
0X

Very nice battery life... and well....mm what else do you want?

Its the fastest PPC so far. 8)

SO like i said before... go buy it now

I still say ... wait a few weeks, until you have more options.

Any new device that are launched with PPC2003, will be as fast as, or faster than, the 2210.

2210 is not a miracle, the thing that make it fast is the brand new windows mobile (PPC2003) OS installed in it. Kudos to Microsoft. and guess what ? all the upcoming devices will also use that OS.

In the coming weeks, there might be several MUCH BETTER devices hitting the street.

Patience is a virtue <-- the #1 motto in electronic world. :D

I wish I had $399 to spend on a new Pocket PC so I could get a 2210. If you want to wait, odds are good that others will match the 2210, but IMHO I doubt they will be able to beat the 2210 (hunch I guess) - if you get it let us know how it performs for you. :)

i have a acer n10...

and it has almost everything the 2215 has + longer battery live :)

ok it has only SD , without IO but it has CF 1 +2 too, so who cares.

itīs only a 300mhz PXA 255, ok but you can overlclock easily to 400

+it has more free memory accesable

and the display is very fine as well.

and personally i like the design much more

+ ITS MUCH CHEAPER ( 279 ) :)

so once thereīs a win mobile upgrade out this thing will be perfect ! ( for me :) )
