Microsoft has put up a great little informational site about device upgrades and where to get them. If you've found today's post barrage overwhelming, you might find this to be a useful reference to bookmark.

(Interesting sidenote: they reference the site ppcupgrade.com (http://www.ppcupgrade.com) for the Toshibas. However, that sounds (and the site looks) a bit more general. If someone discovers something interesting about the site, let us know...)

Well, I entered in a bogus date and the serial number for my iPAQ 5455. No go. It said that the serial # is invalid, so I guess they are doing some sort of checking against Toshiba's serial # list.

I also entered in a different date (within the range) and entered in the serial # for my E740. It didn't take it either.

I can't even order or enquire about ppcupgrade.com because UK isn't on the list of countries! In fact I can't get ANY information on receiving PocketPC *cough* sorry Windows Mobile 2003 in the UK!

May be a stupid question in that I just haven't found the answer in the plethora of fantastic news that's hit recently, but is owning a Compaq 3870 in the UK likely to rule me out of this game?

It didn't take my E740 serial number either. :(

"This upgrade is offered to you by Microsoft for any PDA brand preinstalled with Microsoft® PocketPC® 2002 and is subject to the offer Terms and Conditions." I think they need to update the first page of the site.

I own a 3835, and it is not listed as upgradeable @ http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/ppc_upgrade.html

But didn’t I read elsewhere that the 3800 series would be in October?

I too can't get the upgrade for my Toshiba E755 because I live in Europe!
Any news on what to do?

The HP page only mentions iPaq upgrades. I guess us Jornada 568 users are SOL.

I'm slightly surprised there is no Dell link (or link coming soon) since the part number exists along with the price & details....

Those of you (like me) who have a 1910, don't count your chickens before they're hatched...Toshiba's e335 comes pre-installed with WM2003PPC, and it only has a 16 MB Flash ROM. So, technically, there's no reason HP can't give us a WM2003PPC upgrade in the 1910's 16 MB Flash ROM.

You know many 1910s have been "purchased between May 23, 2003 and September 23, 2003", does HP or Microsoft plan to provide a free upgrade to the 1930/1940? The Microsoft site seems to say that all PPCs purchased during that time will have an upgrade.

FYI - the ppcupgrade.com site is registered to godaddy.com and doesn't appear to be affiliated with microsoft in any way.

Actually, Go Daddy is a registrar (and a very cheap one at that). The domain is actually registered to Unisoft, Inc. (http://www.unisoftnetworks.com/), an outsourcer.
