Okay, besides the 2200 we've done
- all the other new iPaqs
- the new Gateway
- the new Asus
- that Symbian thingie
- the new ViewSonic
- the forthcoming JVCs
- and probably some other stuff I can't think of right now.

What more do you want??????!!!!!??? :

They can set up the posts to be delayed to when they want. They don't *have* to stay up to get the posts out... ;)

ok i count 9 posts that aer on the 2200's
I know that some may contain other stuff too.
I's like to see stuff like how long you knew about ppc 2003, what ppc did you have it on? how hard it was for you to not tell anyone. tell us about the first time you were hands on a device? Has it changed since then?

I had it a little while ago on a 5550 that my husband had for a magazine article he was working on (it has since been sent back - it was only a loaner). I didn't get much of a chance to play with it. As such, while the hardware seemed nice, I was not all that excited about PPC2003. Since then we've heard about speed improvements, and how with a more common code base PPC will be updated more in sync with CE. So those things are good. But I didn't know that then, so it was a bit "ho-hum"

I think I have that after-holiday letdown feeling.

The 2215 is really nice, but it's been in the stores for a week and is not exactly what I want anyway. The Toshiba's have the new OS, but no new hardware?, so that's not too exciting.

Do any stores actually have anything else new to look at? I'm not entirely thrilled with the specs of the 5550 (really want CF and now I read that they've also eliminated Consumer IR too, although I can live without that), but I'd at least like to look at one.

If HP has decided that the mid-range 2200 is for consumers and the high-end 5500 is for business, than I don't like the trend. I want a high-end consumer device with all possible bells and whistles!

No, I believe most of the other Pocket PC 2003 units are not yet in stores. That is, by the way, why we're covering it more than anything else -- people have written up about it.

Give it a week or two, and you'll see news & reviews all over the place about the 5550, the e750, etc. I wonder if I can convince Jason to buy me a 5550 with the goal of doing a review.

i didn't want to critize you guys that make this site run. I love this site. I know you huys spend alot of time getting this site updated. This site it never down. I'm looking into getting another ppc and i know the 2200's are great, but it seems like this will be the end all ppc.
You guys aren't getting free 2200's are you?

We so wish we could. Just to be perfectly honest, us volunteers get no free hardware as part of working on the site -- we do it primarily because we love talking about the subject. I'm pretty sure even Jason's going to have to send back the 2200 he's reviewing right now.

Let's face it, the 2215 is dominating the headlines everywhere. It's probably the device people are the most excited about right now and it's also amongst the first PPC2k3 devices on the shelves (which means it makes for the ideal guinea pig with regards to OS benchmarking tests). PPCT is helping bring attention to many of those articles for us to see.

As other devices start hitting the market, I'm sure we'll see many reviews and articles related to those devices as well. Patience... PPCT can't manufacture stories out of thin air...

well if he wanted to get the ipaq he's reviewing... it would be a "demo" so wouldn't it be cheaper for him? i second the axim stuff. You would think they'd want to put that out before everyone buys a 2200. But then again i'm not working for dell. I still say theres no x7. But i'm hoping :D

And he was forced to remain silent for who knows how long! It would be hard to not be allowed to say a word about such a hot topic of conversation!

But yeah, I'm jealous too. You have a sweet job man!

Probably not. Demo units frequently have to be sent back to the manufacturer. Of course, I don't know for sure in this case, but that's my guess.
