To go with the new PC I'm building, I'm looking for a sweet LCD display to compliment the system. Looking for something in the 17" to 19" range. Must have a DVI interface. I really like the look of the new Sony LCDs (http://www.sonystyle.com/intershoproot/eCS/Store/en/imagesProducts/250x250/SDMHS73W.jpg). These displays looked sweet at BestBuy, but they don't have a DVI interface. Any suggestions?

I just bought a Viewsonic VP171b (http://www.viewsonic.com/products/lcd_vp171b.htm) for $499, and I've been VERY happy with it. No dead pixels, and the fastest pixel refresh rate you can get at the moment (no ghosting - yay!).

I was looking at Hitachi and NEC, but this unit from Viewsonic uses the exact same LCD as those, but is far more adjustable. The Hitachi just goes up and down, the LCD tilts left and right but not up and down.

The Viewsonic tilts up and down, left and right, is height adjustable, and can pivot 90 degrees. Pretty cool!

I just got my 18.1 " Compaq 1825 today.

It has both VGA and DVI interfaces, 160 degress of freedom in vertical AND horizontal, and you can rotate the screen 90 degrees so that it 1024 x 1280 instead of 1280 x 1024.

My unit cost under 470 Euros!! (used for two weeks for a demo, 1 of 25 units).

iilayama also makes some nice TFT monitors at a reasonable price.

I agree with Surgical -- the new Viewsonic LCDs look awesome. If I didn't already have a VP201m, I'd buy a VP201b or a VP211b.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if there are any 19" LCDs with a 16ms refresh rate yet?

I've very happy with my NEC Multisync LCD 1920NX (http://www.necmitsubishi.com/products/home/ProductDetail.cfm?product_id=228&division=NEC) Which can be found for under $600US at many places online.

Formac have the Gallery 2010 with 15ms pixel reponse. Check them out here: Gallery 2010 (http://www.formac.com/p_bin/?cid=solutions_displays_gallery2010_01) but they come only in 20" and 17".
