Symbol has been along for the Pocket PC ride since the first units came out in 2000, and it looks like Pocket PC 2003 is no exception. What's amazing, though, is that the PPT8800 looks svelte for a vertical-market device. (What I want to know is why Eva's birthday is on this unit's calendar, though. Better leave the shop floor early today, hmm?)

The specs on Symbol's site indicate this is a PXA250 running CE .Net 4.1; presumably, this means a Pocket PC 2003 upgrade is to be released.

Totally. That is one goofy-looking machine.

Any info on the specs?

Guys, this is a special vertical market/commercial/shop floor-style device: super-ruggedized and very customizable. I'm sure Symbol will come out with newer units with PXA255s in the future, though.

The specs (http://www.symbol.com/products/mobile_computers/mobile_ppt8800.html) on Symbol's site indicate this is a PXA250 running CE .Net 4.1; presumably, this means a Pocket PC 2003 upgrade is to be released.

Looks like it already has.....

I think it's very cool. It would match my Thinkpad too!
