When you say "shared key authentication", do you mean WEP? If so, you have to enter the same key on your router/access point and in the wireless driver (or settings) on your iPAQ.
I don't have have a 5450, so I can't tell you where to do that. If you tell what router/access point you're using, that might help, too.

I think there is actually 2 features related to WEP-
1. WEP does the encryption by default if enabled.
2. WEP authenticate the session with Shared Key authentication (a challange/response mechanism based on WEP Keys)
The first one it works, but the 2nd one when I switch my AP to accept Shared Key connection only, my notebook connects while my iPAQ doesnt.

It sounds funny, but I think its weird... even I didnt turn on Shared Key authentication, still if I got WEP enabled if I put my iPAQ without WEP it never connects anyway... so I guess it still blocks other from the network?
Any expert could give me some more info on WiFi?
Thanks~!
