August 20th I leave Belgium for the US, first Chicago(havent been there since I was best man at a friends wedding in Indianapolis two years ago) and from there on to Cedar Rapids Iowa(havent been there since I visited after E3 99).
Last time I was in the US(in may) I had as a birthday gift the choice between a Zire 71 and an Ipaq 1910.
I chose the 1910 and rather like its petite size and killer screen.
I want something a bit faster tough as the 200MHz pxa 250 doesnt cut it for me.
Now that PPC 2K3 is released I was thinking of getting one of those.
Suggestions are apreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure that in 31 hours we'll have LOTS of ideas about what is "the best." :D

So far the HP 2215 looks good, but very little on the other 9 to 13 devices has been leaked.

My money is on the Dell Axim X3 and X7! (Have an X5 right now!)

Hmm yeah the new batch of devices.
Look like ill have time to await more reports on more new devices before having to decide.

Whatever you decide to buy, I bet you'll have a greater selection in Chicago than Cedar Rapids. Not that Iowa isn't the cultural center of the universe, but the new devices might not trickle down to that market right away.

You don't have to wait. pocketnow (http://www.pocketnow.com) has a few stories about HP's new machines (including HP's press release about them), and I've seen reviews of the Toshiba 355 (http://www.bargainpda.com/default.asp?newsID=1447&showComments=true) and iPAQ 2215 (http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/ipaq_2215.htm) already.

I submitted a news item about this, but Jason is under NDA and understandably doesn't feel comfortable posting them. I'm not under any NDA, so I don't have a problem posting this. :-D

2210/2215 is the first iPAQ with an integrated CF slot and SD slot, and at a relatively modest $399, it packs a lot of bang for the buck

I have to agree with that. I am a DELL junkie, but this 2215 device looks really nice. Dual CF and SD is definitely the selling point for me.

Iowa got corn AND a cow carved out of cheese.

I wouldn't want to be near that in the summer. :-D

Especially since it gets even hotter in Iowa than it does in Chicago!

Isnt Thadeuss computing located in Iowa?
If its along my route I might contemplate dropping by and buying an NEC 780 or something(if they have em)instead of a new PPC.
