Just got in from my local BB with a new 2215 in my hand. This is my first PPC- I was going to wait a while but all the good comments from longtime PPC users convinced me (like I needed much help 8) ) to buy today. BB will not put the display out until Monday, but if you ask for it they will sell it. Now I am off to find all the software that I need to start to have some real fun. I know that this isn't the right place to post newb ?s, but can anyone send me a link to a post that lists some of the best apps etc to invest in?

Re: software, let me give you a piece of meta-advice: always try before you buy. Don't trust software that doesn't offer a demo version. Most software developers will let you demo their wares for 5-30 days; this should be enough time to give you an idea whether the software is for you and whether you will use it. (There are a couple exceptions to this, but having once been burned by a piece of software that didn't have a demo version, I'm unlikely to go that route again).

There have been some lengthy threads about "essential" software apps on these forums. (In fact, try doing a search on the word "essential" - that might get you started).

My favorite, must-have, can't-do-without apps are Pocket Informant and Cash Organizer. I also spend a lot of time reading eBooks using Microsoft Reader, offline browsing with iSilo, and playing games.

There are plenty of free games out there, as well as excellent commercial ones. Do a forum search on "games" to get you started.

Welcome to the world of Pocket PCs! :multi:

Yes, apparently they are showing up everywhere. Several posters at Brighthand have already purchased 2215's at Fry's in Californial, and are posting pics. Damn is this thing TINY compared to the Axim. :jawdrop:
