Another simple interest poll. How big is you largest storage card?

All the other options are > 32 MB ... :D ... I guess you meant < 32 MB ... but don't try changing it now, there's a bug in the phpBB software which will vaporize your poll if you try to edit. it. beware.

Since I use only SD devices, I'm stuck at 256 MB, which is the "sweet spot" for pricing right now. I lust after a 512 MB card, but I am not about to pay ~$300 for one.

128 megs = ~$60 = $.47/meg
256 megs = ~$75 = $.29/meg
512 megs = ~$300 = $.59/meg

I have two 256 MB cards, and one 64 MB card I bought at an Office Depot cause I was desperate and needed a card right away for my new camera. The 64 meg card cost me around 40 bucks, or $.66 a meg! 8O :(

Hate to rub it in SW but using CF.........

1GB = ~$200.00 = $0.20/meg. :jester:

What are you going to get next? 2210?

I'd like a 512 SD as well, but as you mention the 256 is the sensible buy right now.

BTW, ipaq38vette, why didn't you include 2GB, 5GB, or more? There are PCMCIA hard drives, you know. ;)

(Seriously - this poll is better than the last one - I'd probably leave it alone right now and let the big-storage users comment in the threads.)

2 MB? 5 MB? Do they still sell cards that small?

>:) Funny, it's only been a few years since a 32 MB CF card cost a princely sum. But that's another story/thread, isn't it?

 Good point. I've fixed it.

Indeed, and a scary one. We can go back much further than that, of course. ;)

Dunno yet. I'm excited by the positive reviews I've seen on, um, other sites, but I was really hoping for something with a jog dial. For now I'm happy with my 1910, especially since I put iSilo on it and can download all my fave blogs for offline browsing. I'm not feeling such a desperate need to be able to browse wirelessly. I would like dual slots, though, for extra storage. With a 1 GB CF card loaded up with music, I'd be happy as a clam. I'm just going to wait and see....

I saw at expansys a 10pack of 16mb sd cards. Small cards will probably become floppy drives.

It's funny how the manufacturers seem to be determined to never quite produce what we all want. So many come close but there's always that one thing missing.

I'm looking forward to the Axim X7. If it's like the X5 but with the two radios built in that's for me!

(Then again maybe a phone would be handy.......)

Uh, how about those 1.8" 5GB PCMCIA HDD from toshiba ? can that be considered as CF ? since it plugs into the CF slot ? :D

6 GB CF from pretec is out for $1500+. Coming to a store near you.
