UPDATE: I finally got a chance to download this game. It's definitely worth taking a look at. The graphics are fantastic. The intro is done in a cool comic-book style, and the game itself is very detailed.

Unfortunately, it keeps causing my ipaq to freeze up. I suspect it's pretty memory-intensive, what with the music, the graphics, and the action. I'm going to fiddle with the settings, though, and try again - it's a fun game, and it looks great.

Crystal, Thank you for taking the time to post our news submission.

We have noticed that the game does require a lot of memory to run. We are currently going back through the levels attempting to get the peak memory usage below 10 meg. It is recommended (although we have not stated it) that you install the game to an external memory card. This allows your pocket pc to free up more memory to use while it is running programs. It is also recommended that you close down any programs in your "Currently Running" list that you do not need while playing the game.

Please let us know of any other reliability issues that you find while playing the game. It is our goal to release the final version without having to issue any updates thereafter.

Do you know whether this game will run on Pocket PC 2003?

Because pocket pc 2003 is just being released and the SDK for developers is also just being released the game has not been compiled specifically for pocket pc 2003.

However, pocket pc 2003 is supposed to be designed like pocket pc 2002 in the manner that it should run programs developed for previous versions. As more devices come to market with pocket pc 2003 on them we will have more of a chance to test Blade of Betrayal with it.

If we find that the game is fully compatible with pocket pc 2003 a specific version will be offered in the future.

We believe customers should only have to by a software title once; this means at release time if a customer purchases the full version of Blade of Betrayal that customer will have access to download any pocket pc version of the game we have for the xScale/StrongArm , MIPS, and PC platforms.

Well keep up the good work! I think the game is a lot of fun. I just hope you can get that memory issue solved - my iPaq 1910 chokes on it unless I have absolutely everything else stopped and I overclock it as high as it'll go. Turning the music off helps a little, but I like the music and think it adds a lot to the game! Also, I have to have the graphics set to optimize performance instead of optimising the way they look. Sigh.

Bad first impression - the help file created a Fatal App Error. The info: "Application iexplore.exe had performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. (As Micro$oft cares...). Program: iexplore.exe. Exception 0x80000002. Address: 015bf66c

I'll skip the help and see how the game runs...

Also, I have to have the graphics set to optimize performance instead of optimising the way they look. Sigh.

We have some last minute optomizations to the graphics engine that we'll be adding which might result in a 15% or more increase in speed on some devices (namely those with landscaped graphics memory, such as most compaqs).

You're not the only 1910 that's had a problem with the game -- unfortunately we don't have a lot of test devices -- so any outside help we can get is highly valued.

The game has now been verified to work under 2003 -- and the performance increase is incredible 8O .....
