Hi!

Can the ViewSonic V35 be used a remote control? Has anyone done this? How do you do this?

Thanks!

I've tried with a couple different remote apps but I couldn't get it to work.

The V35 works GREAT as a remote control. It has consumer grade IR, just like the high-end Ipaqs (no other PPCs have enough range).

I used it successfully with pdawin's TV remote controller v5.2. It has a 'learn' mode also.

Hi!

Thanks for the info! I got it to work.

Where does it say the V35 has Consumer IR? I didn't see it in the spec's.

Also, what range do you get?

Thanks for all your help!!!

No problem. I don't think it says anywhere that it is consumer grade, but I get great range with it: I can beam form all the way across the room: I have programmed it for 3 TV's, 1 VCR, and 1 DVD player, and all work flawlessly across several feet.

I've also tried other PPCs: Axim, and Ipaq 1910, and both do really bad in terms of range. In fact the 1910 froze a lot of the time, requiring a soft re-set. The Axim I had to put less than 1 foot away from my TV to get it to work.

I recently got a high-end Ipaq 3950 and it has good range also.
