Check out Soundz Cool...

Some of the sounds are kind of tacky, but there are alot to choose from in their various themes.

It's easy enough to create your own use sound recorder on your PC. If found the alarm sounds were too short and quiet for them to wake me up so i added them all together in sound recorder and pushed up the volume 50%! There are loads of sound available on the net (go to google.com and type in wav sounds). Pocket PC uses wavs for its sounds. Simply pop them into you \windows\ directory and there you go. They should be available from the settings menu.

Hope this helps

tmulli, you have found the Sounds and Reminders control panel, haven't you? Most sound events are configured there.

This question gets asked only once a month or so. My own recommendation is to copy some of Win2k/WinXP's sounds over, also Office 2k/XP if you have it, as the sounds are "warmer, gentler" than the obnoxious ones included in Pocket PC. Do a board search to find other ideas.

As far as taps and stuff, I've read -- never confirmed -- that you can cpy a wav file to \windows\ with the same name as one in ROM, and the one in RAM that you copy is now used.....

Is there any app which allows more sounds to be played?

For example, would I be able to play a small .wav when my PPC boots up?

Pocket PC 2000 has a "Startup" sound event. Did this go away in PPC2k2?

Sort of. It's one of those things that still happens, but you can't change it -- it always plays "Alarm2.wav (http://www.beauvais1.com/ppc/files/Alarm2.wav)." I only hear this sound after a hard reset, however, since I turn off the "Events" sounds.
