This guy took a CRT monitor, took out the CRT, then crammed an entire PC in there. Awesome!

Eh, It has been done before. Heck, the Apple crowd has had the iMac for years!

Personally, I like this much better:

Nintendo Computer! (http://www.junkmachine.com/nintendo/members/tutorial.shtml)

hahaha i was just about to say the same thing.

it actually resembles the eMac more. hahahaha!

Actually, apple fit the computer inside a CRT monitor; they didn't replace it w/ an LCD. but everyone here probably already knew that

ok time to go to bed...

For all the last posting haters, it's still a pretty cool mod. And given that they did it on their own, they get much kudos

This is kind of like that guy who held the world record for the longest fingernails (3'+, I think): No matter what your loyalty, or what your take is on it, you just have to give it props.

Man, you gotta give the guy credit for his imagination. While the look doesn't do much, I'm impressed what it took to make it. Not only is it impressive, but someone who is quite average in ability can make it too. That's a sign of genius.

I too want to join in the chant, I am just simply speechless.'

WHY?!

When I saw the title of the thread I wondered just which moderator Jason was referring to. (Memo to self: read front pages before fora).

Is it just me or that is a UGLY mod? :( C'mon... All those drives up front, none equal, unbalanced design...

Sure, myself being an architect may turn me out too demanding... But, though it was a lot of work and a work of love, i still think the result was WAY UGLY...

Did you find out about that on "The Screen Savers"? It was on there yesterday.

You gotta admit, it is cool, and especially he did do some nice fitting for the plastics...

But it's LOADED with ugly faceplates. Now compare this machine side-by-side with any old iMac. They actually HAVE a CRT in there. They still managed to cram in a lot of functionality anyways (no floppy, slot-load drive). The motherboard is *somewhere*, same with the cards.

I was just astounded how much space the whole thing without monitor took up. Time to investigate an EPIA board, methinks :)

What's up with the two floppy drives? Does anybody still use floppies enough to need two? :? Heck the last two machines I built from scratch didn't even have floppy drives in them.

There's only one floppy drive. There's also a ZIP drive and a multi-card reader.

first things first - this is truly a great mod

ok, I agree that the drive bays are a bit ugly maybe not as ugly as Bruno Figueiredo would have us belive but the mac that this is imitating is sleek and great looking ( a shame its a mac ). I have been waiting for a big name PC manufacturer to make there own version and get it in the high street maybe some design researcher will see this mod and and take note.

Actually, E-machines did make an iMac knockoff. They got sued by Apple and had to stop making them. Here is a page with a picture.
