Simple and straight up: Can you get online with a bluetooth enabled Pocket PC just from a USB bluetooth dongle? How about a Palm?

yes using activesync passthru or network access profile :)

Yes, you can. Look in our Bluetooth Guides (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449) for how to setup things, troubleshoot, etc. Same for the Palm.

Note that you can do through ActiveSync, but only resort to this if your BT USB dongle does not support LAN Access profile. IF connecting through Bluetooth Activesync half of the bandwidth is used to check for updated records every second - you'll get slower then a slow dial up :(

TDK, Belkin, DLINK, Bluetake support LAN, 3COM does not.
