I'm very new to this Pocket PC thing. I have only had one for about 2 months now. I bought a dell axim x5.
Anyways... I purchased a Sandisk 256 MB memory card about 1 week ago and I have had some problems. It worked great for the first couple of days. Although on my 3rd day something strange happened. I first noticed it when I opened my computer and tried to access the SD memory card. The SD folder contained 100's of folder all with dots next to them. No big deal. I checked the card from the file manager built into the OS. I could still see everything.
I then decided to eject the card and put it back in. All of a sudden I get a notice saying that I need to format the disk (What, I already had lots of data on it). I did the format and found that I could once again access it from my computer.
Now whenever I try and copy more then 5 megs of information over to the memory I get a error message on my computer that says there isn't enough space on the card. After attempting to refresh the windows XP file manage to view the SD card the problem is back with all the folders.
Is this what is suppose to be happening. I am very unfamiliar with this technology and I'm not sure if I should just return it to get a Compact flash card or if I just have a bad card. Can someone give me feedback on there experiences with this card.
Thanx.
