Hi All,

I am trying to convert a couple of MPEG videos into WMV using Windows Media Encoder 9 for viewing on on iPaq 3970. I am using the "Convert a file" wizard, and choosing "Pocket PC" as the output format.

The video itself comes out fine, but I don't seem to get any audio when I play it on the iPaq. The video is being encoded in WMV 8, and the audio is being encoded in WMA 9.

Anybody come across this before?

Thanks!

Mark

Well, the default audio on Encoder's PPC setting is 48 (Hz, I think), but PPCs can only use 44.1. So, you need to change that setting. Of course, leave it to MS to do something like that.

There is a thread on Brighthand for more information on using Encoder (Right now they are swamped, but it's under PocketPC - General. Sracer started the thread with a guide, and it's long). I myself am now waiting for MS to come up with a PPC default that using WMV9 - MS claims the new Media Player in PPC2003 that using Video 9 will be better. Looks the same on my PC Monitor.
