tAgenda v1.1 has been released! tAgenda is a freeware Today plugin that displays your upcoming tasks and appointments on your Today screen. Here are the improvements over v0.8 (per Dave Beauvais): the ability to turn off the transparent background; some settings have been moved to their own tabs; improvements in the way tasks are displayed; showing the unread mail count in the header; ClearType support; and the ability to customize the colors of every on-screen element.

Also from the forums, BatMemTime, a freeware Today plugin that displays battery usage, memory availability, and up-time. It also estimates how much uptime you have remaining based on average usage.

I actually don't use *any* of the built-in Today screen stuff. I use WeatherToday, tAgenda, TodayCal, and tdLaunch. I have them set up to fill the screen exactly - no dead space, no scrolling.

No scrolling here. No built-ins here. Just 5 useful (to me) plug-ins.

I use:
Default Date Plugin
OmegaOne Journal Bar (weather/news/stocks)
OmegaOne Battery Bar (battery/memory/analog clock)
Default Calendar (haven't found one I like)
Marc Zimmerman's T-Minus countdown timer
AESoftware Uptime
MS Money 2002
Doesn't scroll unless there are more than 3 upcoming appointments in the Calendar.

I use SnoopSoft Dashboard. It's clean and easy to use.
Don't know if they are still in business as I haven't gotten any updates lately.

I would be interested to see a poll on how many users don't use any of the built-in Today items, ONLY 3rd party Today plug-ins.

I've currently got:
Date (Built in)
OwnerInfo (I'll look at Owner Info X later)
PocketMon (part of Pocket Packup Plus)
Launcher (Scott Seligman's)
tAgenda (Now 1.1 :D )
Speeking of tAgenda, does anyone else find that if they try to customise it without going through Start->Settings->Today->Items (eg tapping on the Today Config icon on PocketMon) the the settings don't stick?
Also any good replacement for the builtin Date? I like having the date at the top of the screen but it has a bit of wasted space.

Baralong - do you have e740 with builtin BT? I can't get tAgenda to work, continually get error as per my post at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13067
Any thoughts?

algester, sorry mine is the built-in WiFi version, and it works fine for me (also running 23).
I guess you could try an earlier rom as a test, but who want to go back to white text.

I just put the date by the time in the menubar, and leave it off the today screen...

Baralong, thanks for your post. Its definatelysomething to do with the V3 BT stack. But on balance I'll stay with BT and have to go without tAgenda.

I use Dashboard to display my tasks and appointments and I have Journal Bar on the MyDash screen. I've actually tried twice to replace Dashboard with things like tAgenda or Scarybear's QuickAgenda. But none of them give me that nice clean easy-to-read view that I get with Dashboard (or complete customization so I can do it myself), so I never last more than 30 minutes before I turn Dashboard back on. I do wish I could put Journal Bar right up front with the tasks and appointments, but not a the cost of losing Dashboard. I too wonder if they're still developing it, though, as I haven't heard anything new out of that camp for a long, long time.

I use 3 plugins on my Today screen.
tdLaunch, Calendar+ (www.mohairsofa.com), and QuickTasks (www.scarybearsoftware.com).
Only QuickTasks costs money.

w00t! With tAgenda 1.1, if you tap and hold on an item, it gives you the time remaining until that item occurs!

Cool, you can also check off tasks and they have them crossed out.
I also like the email unread counter thing and extra hilighting.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywere yet so I'll post it here!
MTUX have just released a app called TodayX. It makes the Today Screen a multipage system (Total of 4 Pages). I've got...
Page 1 ...
Rhinocode Launcher
Rhinocode IpaqPanel
SPB GPRS Monitor (Set to monitor USB Activesync)
Page 2 ...
Rhinocode Launcher
Inbox
Calendar +
Quick Tasks (ScaryBearSoftware) - 14 day trial
Page 3 & 4 Empty.
The really cool thing is that any Today pluging can appear on any of the 4 pages. Like RhinoCode launcher is contast across all the pages. 8)

Well I used to use plug ins but I have chosen to go for the "clean" screen look by just having bare minimals displayed.

Thanks for the tip! I have been changing tAgenda settings using the shortcut to Today Settings that PocketPanel gives. Then I would Soft Reset to see the changes take effect. That was a pain. Now I just go through the Start Menu and the changes take effect immediately.

I use:
Built-in Date
Built-in Calendar
Built-in Tasks
Built-in Inbox
Microsoft Theme Switcher Program
TodayLaunch (some random free version)
I use Nopluginstoday to keep the clutter to a minimum when I don't need it. It is a button on my icbar taskbar, and also to an enlarged button on the today launch plugin.
