I had a PDA Panache stylus for my old iPAQ with a little ballpoint pen inside it - it was really nice for occasions when I needed a pen but didn't have one with me (I carry my Pocket PC all the time). My assumption is that this kind of pen-stylus can't be done effectively with my new Axim, unfortunately, because the original stylus (and thus stylus slot) is so flat, and this new stylus seems to be confirmation of that.

Nice lookin' stylus!!!
Checking on the site it appears from the AX photo that it's 16.95 US for
2 sylii... altho' quantity on checkout lists 1.
If it IS only 1 - I wonder if they are more than 3X as good as the Dell stylii???

:?

I have used pdapanache stylii for the hp568, and the Toshiba e740 and both were top notch (1 was chrome, and 1 was black).

I have been anxiously awaiting these from pdapanache, and will probably order 1 of each color (I really can't decide which color I like better).

As for the price, I am suprised that they are selling this at the same price as their round stylii. The manufacturing methods needed to produce a stylus of this shape are a lot more complex than those needed to produce a standard round stylus.

In my opinion pdapanache stylii ARE worth 2 to 3 times more than oem stylii (but that is just my opinion).

If they had released them in January like they promised I would buy one in a second, I love the metal stylii. Too late now though, time for a new PPC, I've had my Axim for 6 months already! 8O

I'm guessing that means you get one stylus pack, and each pack contains two styli.

I'd been hoping that someone would make a replacement styus for the Axim. I don't like the stock one very much.

I bought a stylus to fit one of my Cross pens and that works really well. Of course, most time I need to use my Axim, I don't have that pen with me so it's back to the stock one.

Anyway, I just ordered the Panache, it looks good.

OK.... resistanace seems futile... has anyone held one of these in their hands? The one crit of stock sylii is that they feel thin and light and snapable - are these more substantial?

Please, somebody say "Yes" - then I can order LOL

• Screen-safe EasyView stylus tip.
Does that just mean that the tip is orange and rounded or is there something else about that tip that would make it especially "screen-safe"?

Dumb question perhaps: If it's not a stylus/pen combo, why do you need the bright orange easy-see tip?

So you can use it while driving at night in a rainstorm

I hear that using the color orange can be very soothing to the soul when operating electronics.

He's talking about the 'Easy' chain in the UK. Check out www.easyjet.com www.easycar.com etc. Orange & cheap, just don't expact too much. :)

Mine arrived here's my thoughts:

First there is only one in a pack. This was a bit of a let down since their photo shows two laying on the Axim. Certainly would have been a much better value - $20.00, including shipping, is a bit much for a single stylus.
They do send a really cheap plastic bic pen lookalike stylus for some reason.

It doesn't fit in the Axim very well. It's longer than Dell's and also the nub to help pull it out is on both sides. For these reasons it prodtrudes from the top of the Axim about 1/8 of an inch, rather than fitting in smoothly like the Dell one. It's also very tight to insert. I've noticed that after inserting the Panache a few times, my stock one is now very loose, will almost fall out if I hold the Axim upside down.

It's about 3 - 4 times heavier than the plastic Dell one, a nicer weight to actually use.

It's not as stylish as the stock stylus. Basically its rectangular and parellel most of it's length, just tapers at the end.

Whereas the Dell stylus has those little round dents where you grip to help stop slipping, this stylus is smooth. There are some grippy things engraved on the short sides of the rectangle. I'll have to see if I can hold it this way.

The orange tip seems to feel nice on the screen, at least as good as the stock one.

In conclusion, really don't think this stylus is a good investment. Someone earlier in the thread commented that it was good that they could make a Dell trpe stylus at this price. In reality, it's not a Dell type stylus. It's a bit of rectangular aluminium that, with a bit of effort, will fit into the Axim. If it had been a metal version of the Dell design it would have been really cool.

Pros: Extra weight feels nicer than stock stylus

Cons: Doesn't fit properly, Lack of styling, Only one when I expected two, Not worth the money.
