Viewing a network over Activesync?

Am i able to view a windows workgroup over activesync by just using the sync cable, and not a wifi or network card?

No. File sharing in Windows requires UDP, which is not implemented in the AS IP suite. So while you can use pass-through from the cradle or a sync cable, you cannot use it with the local network to see windows shares.
