Check out this thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11236&highlight=golandscape) for a good and very inexpensive solution that also lets you use the volume buttons as an up/down control.

I thought I'd seen a registry hack that would allow the 5450 to be put into landscape mode. Look at item #43 on the Tweaks2K2 Web page (http://www.pc-counselor.8m.com/downloads.htm).
