Looks like a great deal... too bad it's only the 2MB cache version :(

I think I might just be going for this one!!!

Personally, I'd rather have an external drive. I want the Maxtor 5000 XT (http://computers.bizrate.com/,mss__cat_id--410,prod_id--7222928,rf--wgg.html): 250 GB, Firewire and USB 2.0. The downside is that it's only a 5400 RPM drive, but I'm not editing video.

I wouldn't want to pay probably $50-100 more just because it's external - unless I wanted to carry it around.

I'm planning on making this my primary OS drive so internal is the best choice for me... but those USB 2.0/Firewire external enclosures look nice :D

Well, I suppose if you have a desktop (my primary computer is a laptop), don't mind installing and configuring hardware and don't mind reinstalling your OS (or ghosting it), an internal drive might be OK. :-)

Okay.. understood :D An internal 200Gb drive isn't an option for a laptop... yet.

I like to re-do my system every once in a while. I use Symantec Ghost to just re-image it ... the only annoyance is backing up stuff, but that's what a DVD burner is for.
