hi. i'm new here. i am planning to buy a pocket PC and I have been doing research and shopping around.

I currently have a digital camera (and 2 256MB CF cards). I don't want to have to buy memory cards all over again (SD) because I usually only need one of my CF cards for my camera at a time.

I am also interested in wireless internet capability in my home. I have seen CF wireless cards for pocket PCs, but not SD cards. Any recommendations for a first Pocket PC? I don't want to go overboard and would like to spend < $400.

The Viewsonic Pocket PCs (v35 and v37) so far really get my attention because of the low price and sleek designs. But, I don't think they have WiFi capability.

Any help would be awesome. thanks.

The Dell Axim, the upcoming iPaq 2200 I think, the Toshiba e740, and I believe the Toshiba 750 as well.

What timeframe are you looking at? The new OS is supposed to come out within a month or two....

Which OS is that? I can hold off 2-3 months. By that time, I'm hoping there will be more selection, lower prices, etc.

Right now, its all speculation with a couple of facts but there's a new OS called Pocket PC 2003 (for lack of an official name) which will come out at the end of June. With this new OS come a lot of new devixes including the HP iPAQ 2200 with a CF and an SD slot and Bluetooth, the HP iPAQ 1945 which has the new processor and SDIO, the Dell Axim X3 which will be worth 150$ and will probably resemble today's Dell Axims and the Axim X7 which will have wireless capabilities. These devices are arranged from most likely to least likely to come out.

There's almost no information that Microsoft has released about the new OS but it seems to be more of a bug fix than a necessary upgrade.

Hope I was some help.
