My family and I just got a new puppy this week (rescued from the Animal Shelter) and I'm looking for a good name for him.

http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/adrian/rudy1.jpg

I've come up with a few Pocket PC-related names, but just can't decide.

Stylus
Pixel
Bluetooth
iPAQ
Essdee [SD]
WiFi

What suggestions do you have?

BTW, he's a three-month-old mix between a German Shepherd and Corgi!

How about Newton? GUI? OQO? Pocket Puppy?

If he's bad, you can call him Activesync.

Congrats on the new addition.

Since he looks to be just 2 colors, how about "Grayscale"?

Interesting how in the picture he's just "handheld"....sorry, I couldn't resist that one!

One more (in fairness to the Palm users that don't visit here): I really like the name Tungsten. It's got some "bite" to it.....

It's hard to imagine a shepherd and a corgi .... well....you know!
He's a cute looking little dog.

What about Mega Bite?
That's pretty good, especially since he's always doing that little doggie teething thing on my ankles!

Brad, is the rest of the family either (a) as geeky as you; (b) willing to put up with it, or (c) about to beat you with a stick for these names?

That said, I think these are hilarious (and great). Keep it up guys!

Call him Reset...

You know:
Brad - "Here boy"
Puppy - <runs over>
Brad - "set boy..."
Puppy - <sits for a second, then jumps up again>
Brad - "No, no, no... re-set, ya' dumb dog ya' "
Puppy - <runs away, hides in a corner and throws up...>

If you use it, will I win anything?

Regardless, make sure you update the thread when you pick a name.

I like Bluetooth and Megabite (though be careful if you name him megabite - you wouldn't want it to be a self-fulfilling prophecy!)

Or you could name him Flash.

I like Bluetooth

Oooooh - I like "Bluetooth". "Blue" for short, so your family doesn't feel weird. ;)

Me too. You could even get him a Bluetooth-enabled nametag -- and as long as the funky BT logo is on there, you wouldn't have to write on it. :D

Well, if you want to go foreign language...

Poche is pocket in French. Like "posh", but with a long 'o'.

Here's "Pocket" in some other languages...

Tasca in Italian
Bolso in Portuguese
Bolsillo in Spanish
Zak in Dutch (actually, I like this one. By the picture, I think your dog would make a good Zak... You could even call him Zak McCracken if you want to get really geeky)
Kapsa in Czech
Tasku in Finnish

How about RF (radio frequency), which you could also pronounce Arf, or Arfie, when you want to sound less geeky... :)

Tasche (my german dictonary says that is german for pocket) though I have no idea how to pronounce it.
It's pronounced just like the name Tasha as in Tasha Yar from Star Trek TNG.

As far as dog names go for the cute guy how about:

Chewbacca, (he looks like a chewer)
Chewy, (for short)
Husky, (also looks it)
Warrior,
Bud, (a man's best friend after all)
Byte, (hopefully he doesn't)
Rainbow, (very colorful)
Ringo, (he had lot's of hair too)
Star, (and he had a last name)
Lady, (or Boy depending on it's sex)
IO,
...
