Please help/opinion. Hard reset and Rom Update

My 5455 crashed last night using Wireless Lan and it did a hard rest after I remove the batery. Luckly, I do weekly back ups. Should I update my ROM (since I have to do a restore anyways) as "Guest" and then restore form my previous backup or should just leave the current version of ROM and just restore? Thanks in adavance for any help.

If you do the ROM upgrade, you can't restore from your old backup...

I think you should just Update the ROM, and start from scratch...

I have had no issues with the ROM update. My only outstanding issue with the 5455 is that it won't connect to my wireless 'g' network...

You CAN restore from and old backup... although probably not
recommended. Some users at Brighthand have reported no
ill affects from doing this. Personally, I see no real benefit
for even 'upgrading' to the new rom when really there is nothing
'new' about it. Moreover, it shouldn't be too long before HP
will re-release another ROM (PPC2K3)
