Anyone know of a software suite I can use with my Axim X5 that gives me limited access to my desktop?
Or even maybe a X11 Terminal window to use with a linux machine? I'm trying to setup a mobile mp3 player... Using the PocketPC to interface with a Mini-ITX system that will have no display... and use the pocket pc to control the mp3 player software.... which could either be in windows or linux... Linux would be preferred.
Yeah, I'm weird.
Thanks

pcanywhere actually has a pocketpc version.
also gotomypc has a pocketpc version as well.
check out some of the prior posts on streaming audio/video to your handheld though, since you may not need a virtual desktop program. it sounds like all you need to to be able to get your mp3 player on the pocketpc to see the hard drive on your minipc. you can do that wirelessly with mediaplayer -- i think.

yes, for that to work, that's all i'd need, but I'm also worried about things such as administrating the PC if it goes down, etc, but maybe i dont really need to worry about that. just have it start up automatically to windows, etc.

You could try VNC. VNC runs on a variety of platforms including LINUX boxes. Get the server software from http://www.realvnc.com and the PPC VNC client from http://www.allware.com.mx/
