Yes, you are correct. I do want to buy one. Unfortunately, the above directions do not have the thumb keyboard. Way before I decided on a dell, I remember some directions to get it from their education site but now I cant find it. Any help?

It looks like they've removed it from their site - they do that sometimes when they're low on stock. I'm sure they'll add it back again once their supply is replenished.
