You missed the mention of a H1945 in the second thread.
i wonder what kinds of differences there will be with the 1945. my guess is that it's an official change to the pxa255 processor and nothing more. but they might bump up the RAM and i'd like to see them increase the battery life--but there's not really any way to get a bigger battery in there without changing the form of the device.

I agree in that it might add pxa255 processor, but maybe they will make it support SDIO? That way it stays basement model, but gives the device potential expansion via add-ons HP can charge $$$'s for. It might have more ROM to fit PPC 2003 on if MS is refusing to release a 16 meg version as well.
Will be great news if the 1945 is real anyway. I thought they were going to sink that line with the 2200's coming out.

no way they going to kill the 19xx class. It's currently the top selling iPAQ.

5555/5550 :
PPCPE with 400 PXA255 .. cool.
SDIO .. cool.
Pocket PC 2003 ... cool.
128 RAM 48 ROM .. super cool.
No CF slot ..... bummer.
Yes yes, it has integrated bluetooth, wifi, gsm/gprs ... but we still need that CF slot for the additional 1 gigs of mp3s/ogg.
Why do they choose not to integrate the CF slot, hence ruining such a totally cool device ?

BTW, the 5455 has SDIO too...

I don't recall anyone saying the H5555/5550 has GSM/GPRS with PPCPE.

Well the article says the 1945 will have: BlueTooth, and PPC03. I think it’s a forgone conclusion that the pxa255 will ship in it as well. That sounds ALMOST perfect. I can live without SDIO but I would like a higher cap battery. Anything less then 1000mAh would be a serious letdown. You could actually get a larger battery in there. Instead of having a removable “door” on the back of the 19xx series the door would be built into the batt. You then could extend the battery out side of the device by just a tad. Most likely enough to jack it up to 1000mAh. I’m actually somewhat surprised that 3rd party hardware manufacturers haven’t thought up this idea yet. The 1910 has sold well enough that someone could clean house with an extended batt. *shrugs*

Same here. In fact, I thought it was just the opposite. The rumours I heard said it was not a PPCPE. It looked more like an upgrade to the 5400 series (more memory, etc.).
I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Well, it's possible the h19xx is not profitable, or so marginal that the volume-effect has to be huge.

I've seen the specs and photos on all of the new models coming out over the next several months. You will all be pleasantly surprised, there is a different model with features for everyone's particular needs.

*Sigh* they're still at 200mhz and just 16MB of ROM on the 1930?

Or tell me! I won't tell anyone! I promise
I was wondering if there would be integrated GSM/GPRS, as that's the key point i want in a PDA, hmm... anybody think that's likely?

So much stuff, I love it when there's a new product/upgrade etc.. coming out, and all these things start surfacing, it get's so tense, and photos galore.. I can't wait until I get the scoop on all the actual specs of the products.. Although.. I'm very disconcerned that Microsoft hasn't announced much at all on PPC2003.. Why haven't they told us when it's coming out? Sure, supposedly the new models coming out will have ppc2003, and logically it would be released before then, but it's quite odd.. Well I think so anyway.
