I can't seem to get Windows Media Player to recognize any type of video file to play on my Ipaq 3870. Media Player 8.0 is installed and I have Pocket PC 3.0.11171 (Build 11178) installed also. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks for any help.

I think the only files that can be played are WMV and MPEG files. Doesn't matter, since I don't use Windows Media as a player a lot because of the lack of file formats that it recognizes.

Any recommendations for a video player for Pocket PC?

Get PocketMVP (http://www.pocketmvp.com). It plays .mpg, .ogg, .mpeg, and DivX encoded .avi. It should be all you need...

Just a small correction. WMP only plays WMV video files.

WMP only playing WMV files seems quite limiting but Pocket MVP is working great for me. Thanks for the info.
