I know it was way to low earlier but now I find to loud for comfort even at the lowest setting!! I'm sure you can damage your ears if you accidentally get the full volume!

Is there any "hack" or something that a, lowers the overall volume and b, gives you a lot finer "steps" when setting the volume?

Perhaps my SONY earbuds are very easily driven... am I the only one to experience this as a seriuos problem. If nothing can be done I have to invest in earbuds with volume control.

PS. I wonder if the volume etc. could be remotecontrolled by the input jack? Perhaps signals could be sent to the down the "mic" input using earbuds with remote on them that connects to all "tree rings" in the headphone jack?

Strange that HP doesn't implement this feature as standard and supply earbuds with a remote on wire. I guess most people with a PDA like to use to listen to music. :soapbox:

You can get an inline volume control for your existing headphones from a place like Radio Shack...

I had a 3650 with insanely loud volume. Personally, I prefer that than a device that's too soft. It's always easier to turn the volume down, and for big headphones or noisy backgrounds having a powerful amp is very useful.
